Our Origin Story
Princeton Orchard was founded on AJ Singh’s simple belief that building your dream home shouldn’t be a nightmare. His commitment is rooted in principle, craft, and an unwavering dedication to creating a smooth and enjoyable renovation experience, resulting in homes that elevate everyday moments.
When AJ arrived in Houston in the early 1980s, he saw land being cleared, homes taking shape, and a city stretching its limits in every direction. He rolled up his sleeves and got to work, learning the trades of construction and home improvement from the ground up. He spent his first years on framing crews, where the work often outlasted the daylight. In those days, his first truck had no working radio but did have a floodlight he’d wired directly to the battery, allowing him to see and keep at it long into the night.
His craft took on new meaning when he joined the crew for a world-class equestrian estate commissioned by a prominent Texas dynasty. He spent the first week not building, but helping a team of arborists meticulously plan a way to construct the primary home without disturbing a single root of a magnificent, three-hundred-year-old live oak tree that was the heart of the property. AJ first saw that true luxury was about the permanence and patience that he believed every family deserves.
That experience on the estate also taught him that building with such integrity required a new level of communication. He honed his ability to bridge the gap between a family's vision and the challenges of construction, learning that every successful project begins with a rigorous, upfront dialogue: one rooted in truly listening and understanding what matters most to them.
Today, with over 30 years of experience, Princeton Orchard stands as the embodiment of AJ’s conviction, serving Houston homeowners who, like him, believe in enduring quality. We bring a certain kind of stubborn, old-Texas pride to our work: an intolerance for anything less than done just right. It's a quieter, more demanding way to build, but it's how you create something that stands the test of time.
